Mònica Zeng

I was one of the last ones to join the team and the reason why I wanted to be part of this project was because of its mission: to educate. A need as important as it is eating or sleeping.

 

Education gives us critical judgment, protects us from being cheated and gives us the opportunity to express ourselves with freedom of 

speech.

I am a member of Books Up because I think it’s a good way to get involved directly and without intermediaries with the education of boys and girls who, until now, had not had the opportunity to attend school.

 

I found in the association a door, which lets me go outside, interacting and helping generations like mine.

I think a better world is possible and we believe in the capabilities of people to improve the lives of others. I believe in our potential and I like helping other people.

 

I love to learn about other cultures and to understand them; is something that makes me stronger as a person and it is very rewarding.

Since we were little we have had the opportunity to go to school because we had the resources to do so, but there are many boys and girls of our age, which must work and stop studying because they can’t afford it.

 

Being a member of the association is a good way to help others and to feel fulfilled.

I have always wanted to be part of an association and when I heard that Books Up was recruiting new members, I did not think it twice!
