BOOKS UP

One book, one ilusion

And...on the other side of the world...

These are the organizations that let us participate in their projects, which improve the education of their children.

Wildlife Alliance
Cambodia

Wildlife Alliance’s comprehensive approach to environmental conservation is only carried out through the hard work and support of hundreds of people. Learn about our conservation model, our incredible Founder and CEO, the tireless staff working on the ground every day, our generous supporters, and helpful partners.

The basic tenet of our mission is to work directly with habitats and communities to protect, preserve, and provide. Wildlife Alliance’s focus is on direct action on the ground and direct access to the people actually performing the everyday tasks, instead of training a few teachers to go into communities to convey our ideas.

New Leaf Book Café
Cambodia

Located in the heart of Siem Reap, New Leaf Book Café is an oasis for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Cambodia's most popular tourist town. The café provides training and paid work experience in the service industry to disadvantaged youths including higher end skills such as management and finance. We give free office space to local NGOs and affordable accommodation for their volunteers.

New Leaf Book Café donates 100% of its profits to local projects that support and provide opportunities to the people of the Siem Reap province. So far we have established partnerships with a number of NGOs.

With your help, New Leaf Book Café will harness the power of tourism to put money directly where it is needed.

Sapa O'Chau Project
Vietnam

Our beating heart is the Sapa O’Chau Centre. As of January 2012, the Centre accommodates 35 Sapa O’Chau students and providies daily support for over 70.

Most are from Black H’mong villages, but some are from Red Dao and other minority villages. Our resident students come from particularly disadvantaged situations and live in the Centre during the week. Without this option the students simply would not be able to further their education as it would mean walking over 10 kilometers to and from their village daily in order to attend classes.

The students are enrolled in Vietnamese Schools & Colleges and we run free English and Vietnamese Literacy, Arts & Crafts and Life Skills classes. Opportunities for Vocational Training are provided through our own activities as well as links with local businesses and NGOs. Our mission is to get all our students back to school and into careers.
